PLG’s Bottoms-up Approach – Is It Right for You?

Darius generously shared some helpful insights about how to identify when a company is ripe for a PLG approach and also some details about exactly what went into their own go-to-market strategy and how they built the kind of team needed to bring that strategy home. While Dropbox is widely recognized as a poster child for product led growth (PLG), not everyone has had the opportunity to see exactly how the plan came together. I had the opportunity to talk with Darius Contractor, former Growth Engineering Lead at Dropbox, to get an inside look at just what went into the making of this SaaS legend. But how did this online storage and collaboration startup gain the momentum to achieve this historic feat? I tried looking everywhere for answers to the above but could not find. It’s a well-known story in the SaaS world – Dropbox reaching $1 billion in revenue in only ten years. Does the agency need to have sharing rights to the master folder in order to view/edit/download the master file?

If the filename or folder path of the master file changes, will the shortcut url automatically update or will the links break?ģ. Is this the correct way to use shortcuts feature or is there a better way?Ģ. Now that I have it setup this way, my three main questions are:ġ. This way if we update the master file, the agency can get the correct version instead of us having to constantly upload to two places and risk having different versions being used. I have a bunch of stuff accumulated from over the years so I don't want to share EVERYTHING with them and I also don't want to have a bunch of duplicate files hogging up my Dropbox as we work with huge video files so what I did was create a new folder for them called AGENCY X and I created shortcuts in this folder to certain assets ("master files") in my other Dropbox folders. I just hired a marketing agency that is requesting access to my digital assets. I don't know if I'm using the Dropbox Shortcuts (.web) feature correctly so some assistance would be appreciated or if there's a better way to go about this please let me know.
